Jesuit History

Visit jesuitroundup.org for a student-published three-part chronicle that provides an in-depth view of the beginnings of racial integration at the school. The first and second installments have been published and the remaining installment will be published next week. The articles provide context and illustrate the challenges and accomplishments of the school’s first black students, Charles Edmond ’58 and Arthur Allen ’59.

Jesuit Web Site on Your iOS Devices

The mobilization of the Jesuit web site is still in progress, but if you visit the home page on your iPhone or iPad, you will now be prompted to add the web site to your home screen just like an application. Visit www.jesuitcp.org to add the "app" to your home screen!

Medical Society Medicine Drive

This March, a team of students, teachers and doctors will travel to Panajachel, Guatemala, C.A. to provide medication and medical help to Mayan families. There is a medicine drive at Jesuit the week of January 23-30. Visit the community service page for details on how you can help.

Auction Events

The Sophomore Gift Gathering Party will be held on Saturday, January 28 at the home of Karen and Mark Carney. The Parents of Grads Party will be held at the home of Honorary Auction Chairs, Bob and Brenda Morgan on Saturday, February 4, and is open to all parents of Jesuit alumni. Rest Stop

Join Father Ron Boudreaux S.J., director of the Montserrat Retreat House, for a JWA-sponsored Ignatian spirituality Rest Stop entitled "Becoming Who You Are" Monday Jan. 30 at 7:30 p.m. in room C100. There will be time for questions. Men and women, with or without connections to Jesuit, are welcome and there is no need to register. Jesuit Alumnus In Running for Prestigious Hockey Award

Former Jesuit student and hockey player Austin Smith is now a senior at Colgate and currently leads the NCAA in scoring. With Austin's success this season he has made the short list for the Hobey Baker award which is hockey's equivalent of the Heisman Trophy. At the conclusion of the season Austin will sign his pro contract and make his professional debut with the Dallas Stars. To vote for Austin, visit the Hobey Baker web page.

Scrum for a Cure

Help the Jesuit Rugby team show their support for World Cancer Day at the Jesuit vs. Coppell Rugby Match, where donations will be accepted. “Pink Game Jerseys” will be auctioned off at the end of the match with partial proceeds benefitting the Tackling Cancer Foundation. Crew Indoor Regatta

The Jesuit crew team will host over 300 high school, college and master rowers at its annual fundraiser, SWEAT (South West Ergometer Amateur Tournament) February 4, 2012 in the Terry Center. Go to regattacentral.com for registration or more information. Spectator admission is $1 for under eighteen and $3 for adults.
