RYAN AUBREY, JESUIT
A goalkeeper's mission is to leave the field with a shutout.

It's the mark of invincibility, the definition of a job well done. Jesuit's Ryan Aubrey accomplished the feat in the first match, a 2-0 win over Bishop Lynch. He achieved it in the last, a 1-0 shootout victory over Houston Strake Jesuit in the Class 5A state championship game. And he did it in 18 matches in between.(Read More)

GEORGETOWN, Texas – For the fans, it was one of the best state championship battles ever. For the University Interscholastic League, it was the match that determined which private school would make history. For Dallas Jesuit, it was relief.

"An awesome sense of relief," said Jesuit goalkeeper Ryan Aubrey.

And an awesome achievement. By shutting out Houston Strake Jesuit for two halves, two overtime periods and four rounds of a shootout Saturday, Jesuit won the Class 5A boys soccer title. Its 1-0 victory at Birkelbach Field capped a perfect season and made it the first private school to win a UIL team title. (Read More)

GEORGETOWN, Texas – It was a dominant performance. Some would say it was clinical.  Jesuit trounced Austin Westlake, 4-0, in the Class 5A state semifinal Thursday at Birkelbach Field.

The Rangers attacked in waves, made the most of their best opportunities and played suffocating defense throughout the one-sided affair. By virtue of their victory, they assured that a private school will win a UIL team title for the first time in any sport after Houston Strake Jesuit defeated The Woodlands, 3-2, in the other semifinal.(Read More)

A week after Flower Mound Marcus was bounced from the boys soccer playoffs, coach John Gall was still ruminating about the match and the opponent that won.

"I will be honest," he said. "I have seen more talented Jesuit teams in the past. But, you know, it's not always the best players that win. It's the players that understand their responsibilities. They have done their jobs well." (Read More)

Jesuit Soccer Team to Play Austin Westlake in Class 5A Semi Finals

Jesuit defeated El Paso Bel Aire to advance next weekend to the Final Four. Jesuit proved resilient once again, overcoming a deficit to tie the score before prevailing in a shootout, 4-2. Matthew Fredricks provided the winning penalty kick as the Rangers claimed the Class 5A Region I title in Midland. After Martin Fuentes gave Bel Air the lead in the 26th minute, Fredricks tied the score in the 50th minute when he scored off an assist from Kingsley Bryce. From that point forward, neither team was able to crack the other's defense until penalty kicks decided the outcome.
It was the second time during the playoffs that Jesuit won in a shootout after pulling out a victory over Coppell in the area round. Soccer Team Defeats El Paso Cornado 1 - 0 advances to Region I Finals
