Welcome Back Jesuit!

As I was getting some new Jesuit gear in the Ranger Connection last week, I stood behind a mom and her freshman son in line. As the mom decided between which Jesuit bumper sticker to buy for her car, I couldn't help but be reminded of how exciting the beginning of the school year is for everyone. Yesterday, as the freshman arrived for the first time, there was certainly a "buzz" in the halls at 12345 Inwood. After a seemingly long slumber over the summer, Jesuit is back.

Being a football guy, I'm excited for the season to begin. I'm especially excited for the Strake game in Houston on Sept. 3. I'll be down there for the game and I hope you'll join me for pre-game joint tailgate with Strake Jesuit alumni. It will be a nice celebration of two schools with the same mission - Jesuit education. If you have not already registered, please do so at www.jesuitcp.org/alumnievents.

I'm also ready for our first Alumni Ranger Round-Up of the year. If you didn't attend last year, you missed out on a lot of fun! The theme for our Sept. 23rd Round-Up is Octoberfest. With Mark Miller '76 leading the charge, you know it will be a good time!

Finally, we are busy making plans for Homecoming. If you haven't heard we have the Ray Johnston Band opening for Clint Black! How many high schools can say they have that billing as part of Homecoming??? The reason we are able have entertainment like this is because of the support we get from so many in our community. I'd HIGHLY encourage buying tickets now before we sell out. Tickets are available at www.jesuitcp.org/homecoming.
