WHAT IS CELEBRATION AUCTION?
Celebration Auction is a Black-tie optional, fun-filled dinner gala held in the spring to raise funds for Jesuit College Preparatory School’s endowment, benefiting the students and faculty. The Celebration Auction has raised over $12 million enabling 26% of the student body to receive some kind of need-based financial aid every year. Each year more than 275 volunteers work enthusiastically to make the Auction a success. Over 1,000 people attend this event in the spring. This is the 30th Anniversary of Celebration Auction.
WHERE DO THE AUCTION ITEMS COME FROM?
Local merchants and businesses, benefactors and friends of Jesuit, Alumni and parents of students donate items for the Auction. Each year our Goods and Services gift certificates are auctioned online one week before the auction date.
HOW DO DONORS BENEFIT?
Celebration Auction is designated by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) charity non-profit organization; therefore, all donations are tax deductible. Donors receive promotional advertising space in the Celebration Auction program. Programs are distributed to all attendees at the Auction and to all donors who request one. Donors also receive a listing in the Auction Yellow Pages, which is distributed with the school directory annually to every Jesuit family.
HOW DO event sponsors BENEFIT?
Sponsors are able to promote their businesses and potentially reach over 2,800 prospective customers. Their names will be on the event invitation, auction website, auction night invitation and in the video presentation on auction night. They will have signage at the individual event and depending on the event being sponsored, they may also receive other benefits listed on the Sponsor Opportunities page under Ways to Support. All sponsors will receive a listing in the Auction Yellow Pages, which is distributed with the school directory annually to every Jesuit family. This is a legitimate business expense. It may also be considered a philanthropic contribution.
WHEN AND WHERE IS CELEBRATION AUCTION?
The Celebration Auction will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at the Westin Galleria. This year’s theme is The Great Gatsby. If you wish to attend, we recommend you make reservations early. Attendance is limited and historically the event sells out three weeks before the date.
Tickets to Celebration Auction are $195 a person. The evening will include a gourmet dinner, dancing in the casino, live and silent auctions, and a car raffle.
HOW DOES ONE GET INVITED?
You will receive an invitation (mailed in March, 2014) if you are currently the parent(s) of a student; you are the parent(s) of a recent graduate; you attended the auction within the last few years; you are an underwriter of the event; are on an auction committee; or you let us know you would like to be on the invitation list.
