Prom 2K17
Prom is a tradition unlike any other: young men clad in black tuxedos enter the large ballroom with their dates dressed in luxurious dresses.  A fancy meal is prepared and served to them, while later they dance the night away. Prom can be seen as the apex of a junior or senior’s year, and it […]

The Feed One Event: A Drive to Remember
Jesuit students, huddled around tables, filling bags with the sustenance of life, prepared 87,000 meals for hungry children in Zambia. 87,000 of anything is an enormous amount, but to have 87,000 meals, packaged by hand in one day, is a major accomplishment, an accomplishment which will feed 761 orphans for an entire year. This massive […]

Jesuit Students Write to Inmates in new Pen-Pal Program
Those who are convicted and sent to prison don’t always have a chance to talk to people outside of the penitentiary, making for a lonely time inside. There are those who may not find any reason to comfort those in prison, but recently some students and teachers at Jesuit set up a program to write to […]

Jesuit Robotics a Semifinalist in Dallas Regional
On the smooth green surface of the ground, a rectangular contraption, made of metal and wooden beams, scurries across the arena. Various wires cover the automated machine, connecting into electrical ports, sending data and information that help it operate. The robot first extends out an arm, clenching onto a small five-inch white whiffle ball. Slingshotting […]

Jesuit Crew Makes Strides in Cincy
Eight Jesuit freshmen work in sync to propel the narrow boat forward at surprising speed. The coxswain barks commands and encourages the rowers while glancing at the competition on either side. The combined effort of the young men begins to show as the opposition falls behind. They relax as the boat glides through the finish, […]

(photo of Pyongyang, by How Hwee Young, EPA) Parading through the streets of Pyongyang, festooned with colorful banners in a sea of uniformed soldiers, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) flaunts its increasingly advanced missile technology.  The lavish occasion, which marked the 105th birthday of North Korean founder, Kim Il-Sung, was meant to display […]

Water Polo on the Rise
Charging through the water like a torrent, the player fends off his opponents with one hand, lining up his throw with the other.
