Rugby Ends Season on High Note
In the month of March, Jesuit’s varsity Rugby team, coached by Matt Ortiz, went 3-2-1. Although the team had strong outings in their three wins, they struggled in their games against Katy and the Quin Colts, losing both by substantial amounts. In their second game of the month, Katy handed Jesuit a 20 point loss […]

A Guide to Fried: A Comprehensive Review of Dallas’ Fried Chicken Scene
Fried Chicken. A testament to the American dream. A staple to Sunday Night football or ravenous late night Whataburger excursions. Originally a Scottish dish, fried chicken has pervaded this nation’s culture from the ground up. In the early 19th century, Southern farmers introduced the delicacy to the population as a replacement to the boring broiled […]

The First Ever Junior Kairos
About 40 students and faculty members filter into the chapel. There is a low buzz of conversation until the voices are hushed and a calm silence falls over the people gathered. They have reconvened on a Monday night in late April to celebrate Mass, share a meal, and reflect on what they have all just […]

Wage Gap or Information Gap?
In an age where succinct sound bites of information, snaps, and tweets eclipse studies and cross-referencing information, TL;DR (too long didn’t read) and social media has ushered us into an age dominated by headlines and articles that oversimplify complex issues. We have grown accustomed to digesting complicated information in a title and having simple conversations […]

Time seems to stand still as the figure readies his tool and the opponent across from him propels the small, white ball […]

Prom 2K17
Prom is a tradition unlike any other: young men clad in black tuxedos enter the large ballroom with their dates dressed in luxurious dresses.  A fancy meal is prepared and served to them, while later they dance the night away. Prom can be seen as the apex of a junior or senior’s year, and it […]

The Feed One Event: A Drive to Remember
Jesuit students, huddled around tables, filling bags with the sustenance of life, prepared 87,000 meals for hungry children in Zambia. 87,000 of anything is an enormous amount, but to have 87,000 meals, packaged by hand in one day, is a major accomplishment, an accomplishment which will feed 761 orphans for an entire year. This massive […]
