    The Roundup
Al-Farouq Aminu is the Greatest Player in the NBA
Originally, I was going to title this article “Why Al-Farouq Aminu is the Greatest Player in the NBA,” but then I realized that there is no question about it. I shouldn’t have to even write an article to explain this, but I will anyway to give Al the respect he deserves. And yes, I call him […]

    Midseason Hockey Update
The carbon fiber stick rises high in the air before coming back towards the ice and sends the rubber puck flying towards the net. It smashes against the the the back of the net after sailing over the goalies shoulder, and the wing pumps his fist in victory. The Jesuit varsity hockey squad has been […]

Faith and the Field: Brains, Brawn, and Heart
When you look at Jesuit from an athletic point of view, you’re likely first confronted with large programs such as football (8-4 on the season; playoff berth), baseball (36-8-2; championship win), lacrosse (14-2; championship win), or crew (quarterfinal berth at Henley Regatta). More of this wealth can come in the form of burgeoning programs such as powerlifting, […]

Jesuit Places Third at Bob Stras Classic
As the ball swooshed gently through the hoop, a deafening roar pervaded the packed gym. Spectators and opposing teams alike marveled at the magnificent marksmanship on display as the Jesuit Rangers shot out the lights throughout the home-court tournament’s third place contest. Letters to Trump
With a new president comes a new and completely different position on important issues burdening the nation today. Several people in our nation, including some seniors from our very own school, hold strong stances on some of those issues and hope that our new president will hold strong positions on them as well. In order […]

10 Takeaways from THAT Cowboys-Packers Game
Well, the Cowboys made it back to the divisional round of the NFL Playoffs! Dallas fans could not have been more excited and optimistic heading into this year’s postseason. However, their highly-anticipated Super Bowl run was quickly thwarted by the Green Bay Packers, again. The game was not necessarily hinged on one play like in the 2014 […]

Jesuit JV and Varsity Soccer Benefit from Scrimmages vs. TCA
Beneath the beautiful sunset lit sky, consisting of extraordinary reds, oranges, yellows and subtle blues, the Jesuit JV and Varsity soccer teams battled TCA in their first preseason game. “It’s a great opportunity for the boys on both teams to experience some real game play before the season. Unfortunately, the TCA freshmen couldn’t play our […]

Christianity and Hip-Hop: Can They Co-Exist?
Today’s world is overloaded with hip-hop artists that glorify money, drugs, and an endless list of sin and vices. These artists capture their listeners, who are mainly between the ages of 18-34, with fast rhymes, catchy beats, and explicit language. This music has seemingly taken over pop culture and our radios, which begs the question: What […]

9th Annual Notre Dame Dance: A Night to Remember
Shining lights, good food, better dance moves all come together in one room. Pausing momentarily to laugh with joy at the sight of the room of dancing students, one young person then quickly resumes his rendition of the macarena, rejoining the festivities. On December 9th, Jesuit and Ursuline students helped to host the 9th annual Notre […]

Boarding a plane headed towards a new country or state, the Jesuit students wave goodbye to their families and embark on a trip that will give them an insight to the culture of their new home for anywhere from 8 to 14 days.
