Global Educational Programs / Hosting & Exchange Program

Hosting & Exchange Program

Jesuit will be offering the following exchange programs in 2017-2018: Toulouse, France; Lima, Peru; Milan, Italy; and, Guadalajara, Mexico. Opportunities exist for Jesuit families to host exchange students and for students to travel as an exchange student. We are currently seeking families who are willing to host an exchange student for all of the programs.

Apply to travel and be a Host Family

Current Jesuit families host students from Instituto de Ciencias, a Jesuit high school in Guadalajara, Mexico, for a three-week stay, while our guests are given individual class schedules, participate in on-going Jesuit Dallas service projects, attend School-wide Mass and prayer services, and enjoy the rewards of a true cultural immersion experience. The vision for the program reinforces a desire to live a global mission and to seek friendships across borders, per the call of U.S. Catholic Bishops. Jesuit Dallas students visit Guadalajara in the fall and live with host families and participate in on- and off-campus experiences. Students will also engage in a joint community service project with their peers.

For the last two years, Jesuit Dallas has enjoyed an exchange program with students at Colegio de la Inmaculada, the Jesuit high school in Lima, Peru. Students from Lima stay for two weeks with Jesuit families, and are expected to participate in all regular school activities. In July, Jesuit Dallas students reciprocate by travelling to Peru where they stay with host families, attend classes, and participate in service projects. Our students are also given a cultural immersion experience, including city tours of Lima and a weekend trip to Cusco and Machu Picchu.

Replicating the experience of our Peruvian and Guadalajaran neighbors, students from Le Caousou, a Jesuit high school in Toulouse, France, visit Jesuit Dallas for two weeks where they attend classes, join on service sites, and taking excursions that illuminate the culture of a major American city. The Jesuit Dallas students will travel to France in the spring to mirror the experience.

Students from the Jesuit high school in Milan, Istituto Leone XIII, visit Jesuit Dallas for two weeks as part of a true exchange program between the schools. Participating in their host student’s classes as well as all other Jesuit Dallas activities, students in our Latin program will travel to Milan for two weeks in the spring, spending a week with their host families, before traveling to Florence and Rome.
