The Ignatian Solidarity Network invites the Ignatian family to the 20th annual Ignatian Family Teach-In for Justice in Washington DC! The Ignatian Family Teach-In for Justice is an annual gathering for members of the Ignatian family (Jesuit institutions and the larger church) to come together in the context of social justice and solidarity to learn, reflect, pray, network, and advocate together. The gathering each year uses the lives and ministry of the Jesuit martyrs of El Salvador as inspiration for discovering the injustices of today and how we might engage in them. Attendees will hear inspiring speakers, attend breakout sessions, and strengthen advocacy skills. We will take twenty students to this year’s teach-in. In order to be prepared for the event, we will have a few reading assignments and a meeting after school. The Teach-In is a place where people are empowered, re-energized, inspired, challenged, and supported by a community that sees faith and justice integrally linked. We want our students to be able to get the most from the experience and take back to Dallas what they have learned.

Topics include:
Catholic Social Teaching
Domestic Poverty & Social Safety Net Programs
Health Care
Human Rights & Foreign Policy in Latin America
Immigration & Immigration Reform
Sustainable Environmental Practices
Workers’ Rights
Racism & Equality
