The Community Service and Social Justice program at Jesuit Dallas is one of the most extensive high school service-learning programs in the State of Texas, and a leader among Jesuit schools, nationally. We work with several hundred Catholic outreach organizations, schools, hospitals, special education centers, elderly care facilities, refugee networks, language centers and environmental programs. Our service / immersion educational model is grounded in the rich Catholic Social Teaching tradition. Students are formed as "Men for Others" through their work in local, domestic, and international initiatives.
Jesuit Dallas community service & social justice works to form men of conscience and compassion. Our Catholic and Jesuit identity calls us to welcome the stranger, and to approach different faith traditions and cultures with openness and understanding. Through our work in various outreach organizations and signature ministries such as Jesuit Refugee Service, we have a long, proud tradition of welcoming and accompanying refugees, regardless of their religion, as they begin new lives in the United States. We aim to continue that work, defending and standing in solidarity with all children of God, whether Muslim or Christian.
▼ Urban Plunge Program
Join us for an exciting week of social justice education in the Catholic Social Teaching paradigm! Monday through Friday, June 5 - 9, we will meet on campus for morning prayer and prelection before boarding the bus and traveling to our service and social justice field work locations. Each day, we will explore two different nonprofit organizations as we encounter Christ in others. In the spirit of living simply, students will prepare a bag lunch each day. Students should wear a Jesuit t-shirt of their choice, shorts or jeans, and sneakers. We will return to campus by 3:30 p.m. to conclude the day in shared prayer and journaling. Each day ends at 4 p.m. Cost of the program is $150 dollars and financial assistance is available. Please contact Rich Perry with any questions.

Please consider giving the gift of an evening out for parents of children with special needs… the program is fun and easy! It is held the first, second and third Friday of every month! You provide mentoring and companionship for a child with special needs while their parents enjoy a date night or special evening out. The program is supervised on the campus of the UMC Lovers Lane by Rays of Light, Inc. To receive the volunteer application, please contact: Debbie Solomon 214-706-9579 email@example.com
